General Comments:This genuine Dotanuki sword is unusual as most swords from the Dotanuki line were about 23-24 inches in length and used as single handed katana. Although this line never produced a single smith who produced blades of artistic note, there is not a Wazamono List (noteable cutting swords) that I can find that does not include a Dotanuki blade.
These swords were renowned for there practical cutting ability and were highly sort after during the 1500's as reliable weapons.
And yes this is the type of sword made famous by the Lone Wolf and Club series of movies.
Comments:A flawless sword in Handachi mounts, over 400 years old by a famous line of Swordsmiths, comes with an independant appraisal. (Would make an impressive Iaito). Very well priced for a rare signed Koto sword.
