Hada: Large Itame Hada (woodgrain)

Mei: Signed (but no longer readable)

Saya: Black Urushi Lacquer with Horn kurikata and Burgundy Sageo.

Tsuka: Bound in Dark Blue Silk Ito and large nodule Same.

Fuchi Kashira: Black Shakudo with Gold Shishi Lions in raised relief 19th Century excellent condition.

Menuki: Black Shakudo Wild Boars with Gold Highlights.

Tsuba: Round Iron Plate Sukashi Tsuba with two War Fans and Sakura Family Crest. Very well carved in excellent condition 18th Century.

Blade: 27.5" Nagasa in good condition with no forging flaws, has scratches and slight staining here and there and would benefit from a polish but all features (Grain, Hamon) are clearly visible. All the Shinogi Mune Yokote Lines a crisp and well defined.

Habaki: A 2 piece Brass Habaki Shouldered in Solid Silver.

Comments: A strong healthy early Shinshinto Katana in good quality Koshirae well suited for cutting practice or Iaido in its present state. Would greatly benefit from a Professional Polish. (The price allows plenty of margin for the cost of a good polish).
