| The Solid Blade model comes with an 11 inch Tsuka bound in white Same and Black Cotton Ito (imported from Japan). It is mounted with Higo Style Fuchi/Kashira and Sakura Mon Menuki. The Blade has a 29 inch Nagasa and is Hammer Forged and is differentially Tempered. The Sori very slightly and average at 1.8cm (please specify if you prefer deeper or more shallow). The Hamon is in O'Midare and has been bordered with a courser stone to highlight it with stunning effect. (see Pics 5,6,7,8) The Habaki of each piece is hammer formed to each Blade and is handtooled to match the Mune and expands only slightly at the shinogi to allow a perfect pressure fit into the Saya.( See pics 2 and 3). The saya is Black gloss with a rounded Kurikata mounted with Brass Shitodome and 7mm thick Buffalo horn at the Koikuchi, this allows a properly oiled Mune to glide effortlessly when drawing the sword, this allows it to be done at great speed and is only found in the best quality Koshirae. The Tsuba was chosen carefully from our collection, it was designed for practicality and elegance. The same design is listed in a Japanese Sword Fittings Society Exhibition Catalog as being Early Warring States period, whilst our original piece (Pic 10) dates from the end of this era showing that it was a popular design with Swordsmen for over 100 years.
